History of the Chateau
Completely refurbished, combining the traditional and modern, the Château Résidence de Bionne boasts real historic charm with a genuine historic character and is a member of the "Châteaux et Hôtels de France" and "Exclusive Hotels" chains.
This old mansion house is rooted in the history of Montpellier and belonged to the intendant of Languedoc between 1685 and 1718.
The Château has passed through several owners from J. Sartre and Joseph Bonnier, whose cousin Privat de Saint Rome stayed there in 1710, to Monsieur de La Mosson who sold it to the Audessan family. It was taken over successfully by the Portalés, Montpézat, Thibault and Leenhardt families before becoming the property of an institution.
In those days, this "Montpellier Folly” was the scene of splendid receptions.
Known as the «Demeure des Champs» then as the Château de Mont-Louis, the Château Résidence de Bionne was modified in the 18th century and took its present form under the name of Château Résidence de Bionne.
